AL Lemon Law Summary

In order to protect consumers from defective lemon cars this state has put in place the following lemon law.

Alabama covers all vehicles intended for use on the public highway system that are self proprelled. Motor Homes and RVs are exluded along with vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds. The Alabama Lemon Law covers all vehicles for the first year or 12,000 miles.

3 repair attempts must be made, but only 1 of which needs to be within the above period of coverage or the lemon car needs to be out of service for 30 business days. The motor vehicle dealership is in no way liable under Alabama's Lemon Law Statute; neither the consumer nor the manufacturer may take action against the dealership.
